My friend’s son has won the Jack Petchey prize for Speaking in Public on a subject of his own choice for 3 minutes.  The Jack Petchey Foundation is a charity encouraging confidence and inspiring school children to excel.

The teachers at his school clearly want to encourage freedom of thought and the right to speak.  This is a really useful experience for the workplace – whatever you choose to do:  Presence of Mind.  Really connecting your excitement and enthusiasm into what you’re saying.  Allowing the words to take shape in your mind and maintaining your equilibrium by breathing into the words.
